Jus Possidendi

The right of possess^ ing, which is the legal consequence of ownership. It is to be distinguished from the jus possessionis (q. vj^ which is a right to possess which may exist without ownership. JUS POSTLIMINII (Lat). The right of the owner to claim property after its recapture _from an enemy. See Postliminy. JUS PR^TORIUM. A body of laws developed from the exercise of discretion by the praetors, as distinguished from the leges or positive law. See Pr^tor. JUS PRECARIUM (Lat). In Civil Law.
