A measuring out; an assignment or adjustment by measure or according to certain proportions; the name of a common-law writ for making such an assignment Admeasurement of dower: a writ wljich lies at suit of the heir against the widow where she holds or has taken by assignment more land than she ia lay by a person having a right of common in pasture against another who had surcharged the common with more cattle than he ought, to adjust the rights of pasture.
