In old English law

Commune concilium regni: the common council of the realm; one of the names of parliament. Commune liospitium: a common inn. Commune placitum: a common plea or aption, such as an action of debt. Commune Tinculum: a common or mutual bond, — applied to the common stock of consanguinity, and to the feudal bond of fealty.
