In old English law
To put out; to take away; to deprive'; to deny a thing asked. Ouster le main, ousterlemain: to remove the hand; the delivery of lands out of a guardian's hands, when the male heir arrived at proper age; a writ against the lord for this purpose; the delivery of lands out of the king's hands, on a judgment on a monstrans de droit.
