Praecipe

I. Command; an original writ commanding the defendant to do a certain thing, or show cause; a paper containing the particulars of a writ, filed in the office out of which the writ is to issue, and intended as the clerk's instructions for making it out Praecipe in capite: a praecipe or writ of right which lay for a tenant in eapite. Prjecipe quod reddat: command that he render; formal words in a praecipe, or original writ Praecipe quod teneat conyentionem: command that he keep the covenant; a writ of covenant on which fines were usually levied at common law.
