In Civil Law. A cession of gain. The amount of profit lost as distinguished from damnum emergens, an actual Ipss. The actual loss sustained for the breach of contracts other than the mere non-payment of money which was covered- by interest. Damages could be recovered in particular cases for both. Howe, Stud.
