In pleading. The general issue in formedon. It is in the following formula: "And the said C. D., by J. K., his attorney, comes and defends the right, when, etc., and says that the said E. F. did not give the said manor, with the appurtenances, or any part thereof, to the said G. B. and the heirs of his body issuing, in manner and form as the said A. B. hath in his count above alleged. And of this the said C. D. puts himself upon the country." 10 Wentw. PL 182.
