Oklahoma

One of the United States, admitted to the Union November 10, 1907. By tho enabling Act of June 16, 1906, a constitution was adopted and a state government established covering the territory previously known as Oklahoma and the Indian Territory, The enabling act contains the provision that nothing contained in the state constitution shall be construed to limit or affect the right or authority of the government of tho United States to make any law or regulation respecting the Indians, their lands, property or other rights by treaties, agreement, law or otherwise which it would have been competent to make if the act had never been passed.
