A lading; a cargo. ONERIS FERENDI JUS (Lat. of bearing a burden). In Civil Law. The name of a servitude by which the wall or pillar of one house is bound to sustain the weight of the buildings of the neighbor. The owner of the servient building *is bound to repair and keep it sufficiently strong for the weight it has to bear. Dig. 8. 2. 23.
