In the civil law, a conventicle or unlawful meeting. PARATITLA (Lat.)
In civil law. An abbreviated explanation of some titles or books of the Code or Digest. PARATUM HABEO (Lat. I have ready).
In practice. A return made by the sheriff to a capias ad respondendum, which signified that he had the defendant ready to bring into court. This was a fiction, where the defendant was at large. Afterwards he was required, by statute, to take bail from the defendant, and he returned cepi corpus and bail bond. But still he might be ruled to bring in the body. 7 Pa. St. 535.
