17 U.S.C. § 118 — as used in this section (2 versions over time)

As used in this section, the term “public broadcasting entity” means a noncommercial educational broadcast station as defined in section 397 of title 47 and any nonprofit institution or organization engaged in the activities described in paragraph (2) of subsection (c).

In this subparagraph, the term “public broadcasting entity” has the meaning given such term under section 118(f).

47 U.S.C. § 397 — for the purposes of this part

The term “public broadcasting entity” means the Corporation, any licensee or permittee of a public broadcast station, or any nonprofit institution engaged primarily in the production, acquisition, distribution, or dissemination of educational and cultural television or radio programs.
