Four. A Latin numeral, to which quartus (fourth) is the corresponding ordinal. Quatuor pedlbus currit. It runs upon four feet; it runs upon all-fours. A phrase which is used, in making comparisons of two cases, to denote a precise resemblance; an exact correspondence of the facts. See All-fours.
