Responsible person

18 U.S.C. § 841 — as used in this chapter

“Responsible person” means an individual who has the power to direct the management and policies of the applicant pertaining to explosive materials.

21 U.S.C. § 355 — for purposes of this section

The term “responsible person” means the person submitting a covered application or the holder of the approved such application.

21 U.S.C. § 355 — under this section

The term “responsible person” means a person who—

(i) has submitted to the Secretary a covered application that is pending; or

(ii) is the holder of an approved covered application.

The term “responsible person” means the manufacturer, packer, or distributor of a cosmetic product whose name appears on the label of such cosmetic product in accordance with section 364e(a) of this title or section 1453(a) of title 15.

The term “responsible person” means—

(A) in the case of a station more than 50 percent of which is owned by a public entity, such public entity;

(B) in the case of a station more than 50 percent of which is owned by a private party, the persons providing intercity or commuter rail transportation to such station, as allocated on an equitable basis by regulation by the Secretary of Transportation; and

(C) in a case where no party owns more than 50 percent of a station, the persons providing intercity or commuter rail transportation to such station and the owners of the station, other than private party owners, as allocated on an equitable basis by regulation by the Secretary of Transportation.

46 U.S.C. § 3201 — in this chapter

“responsible person” means—

(A) the owner of a vessel to which this chapter applies; or

(B) any other person that has—

(i) assumed the responsibility for operation of a vessel to which this chapter applies from the owner; and

(ii) agreed to assume with respect to the vessel responsibility for complying with all the requirements of this chapter and the regulations prescribed under this chapter.
