Distinct; set apart; severed; belonging to, enjoyed or enjoyable by one person or class of persons. Separate estate: property given or settled to the separate use of a married woman. Separate maintenance: the maintenance of a woman by her husband, on an agreemenli to live separately; an allowance made by a husband therefor.
