I. The smallest. Minime: in the least. Minima poena corporalis est major qualibet pecuniaria: the smallest corporal punishment is greater than any pecuniary one. Minime mutanda sunt quae certam babuerunt interpretationem: those things which have [once] had a certain interpretation are not to be altered.
