If the answer to a question may tend to prove the matter alleged in the declaration, the question may be asked. It is not necessary that the testimony be sufficient to prove the matter. Evidence which tends to prove the issue on the part of either side must be submitted to the jury.'* Gross negligence tends to show fraud, q. v.
