A person whose duties are analogous to those of a guardian in English law; he must, however, be over fifty years of age, and appointed with the consent of the parents, or, in their default, of the conseil de famille t and is only appointed for a child over fifteen years of age. The title of a second guardian appointed for an infant under guardianship; his functions are exercised in case the interests of the infant and his principal guardian conflict.
