applicable date

Defined in 9 places across 2 titles of the United States Code.

For purposes of clauses (iii) and (iv), the term "applicable date" means—

(I) with respect to the initial publication of a list under clause (ii), January 5, 2023; and

(II) with respect to the publication of an updated list under clause (ii), a date specified by the Secretary that is not more than one year prior to the date of such publication.

For purposes of subparagraph (B), the term “applicable date” means—

(i) January 1, 2017, in the case of an individual taxpayer identification number issued before January 1, 2008,

(ii) January 1, 2018, in the case of an individual taxpayer identification number issued in 2008,

(iii) January 1, 2019, in the case of an individual taxpayer identification number issued in 2009 or 2010, and

(iv) January 1, 2020, in the case of an individual taxpayer identification number issued in 2011 or 2012.

For purposes of this section, the terms “specified security” and “applicable date” shall have the meaning given such terms in section 6045(g).

(A) in the case of a qualified Hurricane Katrina individual, August 25, 2005,

The term "applicable date" means—
