eligible mortgage
Defined in 1 place of the United States Code.
The term “eligible mortgage” means a mortgage—
(A) the mortgagor of which—
(i) occupies such property as his or her principal residence; and
(ii) cannot, subject to subsection (e)(1)(B) and such other standards established by the Board, afford his or her mortgage payments; and
(B) originated on or before January 1, 2008.
