long-term care facility

Defined in 3 places of the United States Code.

In this section, the terms “elder justice”, “long-term care facility”, and “law enforcement” have the meanings given those terms in section 1397j of this title.

The term “long-term care facility” means—

(A) any skilled nursing facility, as defined in section 1395i–3(a) of this title;

(B) any nursing facility, as defined in section 1396r(a) of this title;

(C) for purposes of sections 3027(a)(12) and 3058g of this title, a board and care facility; and

(D) any other adult care home similar to a facility or institution described in subparagraphs (A) through (C).

The term “long-term care facility” means—

(A) any skilled nursing facility, as defined in section 1395i–3(a) of this title;

(C) for purposes of sections 3027(a)(9) and 3058g of this title, a board and care facility; and

(B) any nursing facility, as defined in section 1919(a) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396r(a));

(C) a board and care facility; and

(D) any other adult care home, including an assisted living facility, similar to a facility or institution described in subparagraphs (A) through (C).

(B) any nursing facility, as defined in section 1919(a) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396r(a));

(C) for purposes of sections 3027(a)(9) and 3058g of this title, a board and care facility; and

(D) any other adult care home, including an assisted living facility, similar to a facility or institution described in subparagraphs (A) through (C).

The term “long-term care facility” means a residential care provider that arranges for, or directly provides, long-term care.
