Appointment and duties of presiding judges

The chief justice of the supreme court shall designate a presiding judge for each district. The presiding judge shall, in addition to regular judicial duties, (1) assign the cases pending to the judges made available within the district;

(2) supervise the judges and their court personnel in the carrying out of their official duties within the district; and

(3) expedite and keep current the business of the court within the district.
