(a) The Limestone County Board of Education shall set the salary of the county superintendent of education at an amount to be determined by the board and may raise the salary at any time during the contract period.
(b) In addition to the salary provided in subsection (a), the Limestone County Board of Education may provide an expense allowance and provide for a car allowance or the use of a car to the county superintendent of education in the manner that the board shall determine.
