Ala. Code § 45-44-231.01

The Sheriff of Macon County is authorized to employ a county jail administrator, who shall serve at the pleasure of the sheriff and shall perform such duties as the sheriff may direct. The salary of the county jail administrator shall not exceed sixteen thousand five hundred dollars ($16,500) per annum which shall be paid in equal monthly installments from the sheriff’s special fund from the dog track revenue.
