Any defect in the notice or proceedings before or subsequent to the notice, with respect to one or more interested persons, shall not affect the notice or proceedings, except insofar as it may touch the interest or property of that person or persons, and shall not avail any other person concerned therein. In the event of a defect, supplementary proceedings of the same general character, as those prescribed in this part, may be had in order to supply the defect.
