Ark. Code Ann. § 12-41-803

Definitions

Acts 1989, No. 486, § 3.

As used in this subchapter:

(1) “Governing body” means the: City council or board of directors or comparable body for a city;

(2) Town council or board of directors or comparable body for a town; and

(3) Quorum court for a county;

(4) “Juvenile detention facility” means any facility for the temporary care of juveniles alleged to be delinquent, or adjudicated delinquent and awaiting disposition, who require secure custody in a physically restricting facility designed and operated with all entrances and exits under the exclusive control of the facility's staff, so that a juvenile may not leave the facility unsupervised or without permission;

(5) “Local governmental units” means a city of any class, a town, or a county; and

(6) “State” means the State of Arkansas.
