Director of the State Board of Barber Examiners

(1) The State Board of Barber Examiners in consultation with the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Licensing may employ a Director of the State Board of Barber Examiners, who shall not be a member of the board and who shall have the responsibility of keeping: A record of the board's proceedings;

(2) A record of persons registered as barbers showing the name, place of business, and residence of each and the date and number of his or her certificate;

(3) A record of all certificates issued, refused, renewed, suspended, or revoked; and

(4) Such other records as may be directed by the board or required by law.

(5) The records shall be open to public inspection at all reasonable times.

(6) The director shall perform such other functions and duties as may be prescribed by law or directed by the secretary.

(7) The director shall receive such compensation for his or her services as may be prescribed by the secretary within the limitations of the biennial appropriation therefor made by the General Assembly.
