Service sinks — Definition

Acts 2011, No. 1134, § 1.

(1) As used in this section, “commercial building” means a building for the transaction of business, professional services, other services involving merchandise, office buildings, banks, light industrial and similar uses.

(2) “Commercial building” does not include a food service establishment.

(3) A commercial building shall not be required to include a plumbing service sink, either at construction or as part of a renovation or remodeling, if the building owner or an agent of the building owner communicates to the plumbing code official at the time of construction or renovation that the actual or proposed number of persons that will occupy the building is fifteen (15) or less.

(4) For the purposes of determining the minimum number of plumbing service sink fixtures required in a building, the number shall not be determined by using building occupancy loads as calculated in the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code.
