Committee of Plumbing Examiners

(1) The State Board of Health shall appoint a Committee of Plumbing Examiners consisting of seven (7) voting members, prescribe their qualifications, and assign their duties.

(2) Qualifications of the members of the committee shall be as follows: Two (2) of the members shall be master plumbers;

(3) One (1) shall be a journeyman plumber;

(4) One (1) shall be a professional engineer as defined in § 17-30-101 with special expertise in plumbing design;

(5) Two (2) shall be consumers; and

(6) One (1) shall be a representative of the Department of Health.

(7) The member from the department shall serve on the committee until replaced by the Secretary of the Department of Health.

(8) The term of office for the remaining members shall be for a staggered term of four (4) years. The board may remove a member for cause.

(9) When so directed, the committee and other employees of the department shall serve the board in an advisory capacity in the formulating of rules to be adopted by the board.

(10) Those members of the committee who are not employees of the State of Arkansas may receive expense reimbursement and stipends in accordance with § 25-16-901 et seq.

(11) The Director of the Plumbing and Natural Gas Section of the Department of Health shall serve as executive secretary for the committee.
