Waivers for licensing

Known as the Dietetics Practice Act

The act spans §§ 17-83-101 to 17-83-308 (18 sections).

Acts 1989, No. 392, § 7.

(1) For one (1) year beginning July 3, 1989, the Arkansas Dietetics Licensing Board shall waive the examination requirement and grant a license to any person who: Has received a baccalaureate or postbaccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited United States college or university with a program in human nutrition, food and nutrition, dietetics, or food systems management;

(2) Has completed a planned continuous preprofessional experience component in dietetic practice of not fewer than nine hundred (900) hours under the supervision of a registered dietitian or licensed dietitian; and

(3) Has been employed in the practice of dietetics for at least three (3) of the last ten (10) years preceding July 3, 1989; or

(4) Is registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

(5) Applicants who have obtained their education outside of the United States and its territories must have their academic degree or degrees validated as equivalent to the baccalaureate or postbaccalaureate degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university in the United States.
