Notice of viewers' meeting

(1) It shall be the duty of one (1) of the petitioners to give at least five (5) days' notice in writing to the owners or their agents, if residing within the county.

(2) If the owner is a minor, an individual with intellectual disabilities, or an individual with mental illness, then a petitioner shall give notice to the guardian of the person, if a resident of the county, on whose land the public landing is proposed to be laid out and established, and also five (5) days' notice to the viewers named in the order of the county court of the time and place of meeting as specified in the order.

(3) It is further made the duty of the petitioners, if the public landing is proposed to be laid out or established on any land owned by nonresidents of the counties, to cause notice to be given to the nonresidents of the county by publication for two (2) consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in the county. If there is no newspaper published in the county, then notice shall be given to the nonresidents by posting a notice of the time and place of the meeting of the viewers as specified in the order of the county court. Also the substance of the petition for the public landing shall be posted upon the door of the office of the clerk of the county court for at least two (2) weeks before the time fixed for the meeting of the viewers.
