Ark. Code Ann. § 24-6-207

Membership

(1) The Director of the Division of Arkansas State Police and all other state police officers shall become members of the State Police Retirement System.

(2) All persons who became, or become, state police officers after March 19, 1951, shall become members of the system.

(3) None of the other employees of the Division of Arkansas State Police shall be eligible to membership in the system, and the conferring of rank upon any such employee shall not, in itself, constitute eligibility to membership in the system.

(4) Any state police officer, upon appointment as Secretary of the Department of Public Safety, shall be eligible to continue his or her membership in the State Police Retirement System.
