Ark. Code Ann. § 4-109-101

Definitions

Acts 2005, No. 66, § 1.

As used in this chapter:

(1) “Notary public” means a person duly appointed or commissioned under § 21-14-101;

(2) “Person” means: An individual;

(3) An organization;

(4) An association;

(5) A partnership;

(6) A limited liability company; or

(7) A corporation; or

(8) Any combination of them; and

(9) “Practice of law” means: Holding oneself out to the public as being entitled to practice law;

(10) Tendering or furnishing legal services or advice;

(11) Furnishing attorneys or counsel;

(12) Rendering legal services of any kind in actions or proceedings of any nature or in any other way or manner;

(13) Acting as if or in any other manner assuming to be entitled to practice law; or

(14) Advertising or assuming the title of lawyer or attorney, attorney at law, or equivalent terms in any language in such a manner as to convey the impression that one is entitled to practice law or to furnish legal advice, service, or counsel.
