(1) The Board of Trustees of the Arkansas School for the Blind and the Arkansas School for the Deaf created in § 6-43-101 is charged with the management and control of the Arkansas School for the Blind and the Arkansas School for the Deaf.

(2) The board shall have the power, authority, and duties formerly conferred by law on the board it succeeds including those set forth below: The board shall exercise such powers of supervision and control as are not specifically reserved to the superintendent; and

(3) The board, in consultation with the Secretary of the Department of Education, shall fix the salaries of officers and employees not already fixed by law.
