Ark. Code Ann. § 6-60-601

Adoption of textbooks and course materials

Acts 2007, No. 175, § 1.

(1) For each full semester and collectively for summer sessions, a state-supported institution of higher education in this state shall distribute a list of all textbooks and course materials required or assigned for an undergraduate course by: Publication on its website; and

(2) Posting at its bookstore.

(3) The list shall be distributed no later than 12:00 noon on: April 1 for the following fall semester;

(4) November 1 for the following spring semester; and

(5) April 1 for all following summer sessions.

(6) For each textbook or course material the list shall include: A brief description of the textbook or course material;

(7) The author or authors;

(8) The title and edition; and

(9) Any special instructions or circumstances for the purchase or use of the textbook or course material.

(10) A textbook or course material for an undergraduate course may be adopted after the time specified in subsection (a) of this section for distributing the list if: The adoption is approved by the department chair and the dean or division head of the affected college; and

(11) The dean or division head of the college forwards to the chief academic officer of the affected state-supported institution of higher education the following information: A list of each late adoption;

(12) The names of the person or persons responsible for each late adoption; and

(13) A written statement explaining why each adoption was late.
