Natural Resources Damages Advisory Board

Known as the Natural Resources Damages Trust Fund Act

The act spans §§ 8–8 (5 sections).

(1) There is hereby created and established a Natural Resources Damages Advisory Board.

(2) The board shall be composed of seven (7) members: One (1) member shall be a representative from the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation;

(3) One (1) member shall be a representative from the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission;

(4) One (1) member shall be a representative from the Arkansas Forestry Commission;

(5) One (1) member shall be a representative from the Division of Environmental Quality;

(6) One (1) member shall be a representative from the Arkansas State Game and Fish Commission;

(7) One (1) member shall be a representative of the Division of Arkansas Heritage; and

(8) One (1) member shall be a representative of the Attorney General's office.

(9) Members of the board shall serve without compensation.

(10) The board shall have the following powers and duties: To develop projects for the restoration, rehabilitation, replacement, and acquisition of natural resources;

(11) To request proposals for natural resource-related projects;

(12) To review and evaluate proposals for natural resource-related projects;

(13) To select projects for the restoration, rehabilitation, replacement, and acquisition of natural resources; and

(14) To approve payments from the Natural Resources Damages Trust Fund for projects and other activities relating to the restoration, rehabilitation, replacement, and acquisition of natural resources.
