Powers and Duties of the Commission

The commission may promote the sale of forest products by advertising and other promotional means, including cost sharing advertising, for the purpose of maintaining and expanding present markets and creating new and larger intrastate, interstate, and foreign markets for forest products and to educate and instruct the public with respect to the use of forest products. The commission may not promote the sale of unprocessed logs in foreign markets or rough-sawn products for remanufacture in foreign markets. Promotional activities for foreign export markets shall be limited exclusively to value-added forest products in finished manufactured form and may not include cants.
