Policy for Promoting Employment Growth

The Legislature declares that it is the continuing policy and responsibility of the state to foster and promote growth in employment, productivity, income, and purchasing power.

The Legislature further declares that in attaining these goals, the state shall:

(1) Use all practical means within its power consistent with its needs and obligations and other essential considerations of state policy;

(2) Seek the assistance and cooperation of industry, labor, the federal government and local government;

for the purpose of creating and maintaining the general conditions under which there will be afforded useful employment opportunities, including self-employment, for all those qualified persons, willing and seeking work.
