Cal. Prob. Code § 201

Proceedings to Establish Death

Enacted by Stats. 1990, Ch. 79.

(a) Proceedings under this chapter shall be commenced in the superior court of the county of which the decedent was a resident at the time of death or in the superior court of any county in which the property is located.

(b) Proceedings under this chapter shall be commenced by filing a petition that sets forth all of the following information:

(1) The jurisdictional facts.

(2) A particular description of the affected property and of the interest of the petitioner in the property.
