(1) A veterinary technician is authorized to provide care to animals under the direction and supervision, as defined by the board by rule, of a licensed veterinarian who is responsible for the veterinary technician’s performance. The licensed veterinarian directing and supervising the veterinary technician is responsible for the care of the animal. (2) Nothing in this part 2 prohibits a person who is not a veterinary technician pursuant to this part 2 from performing tasks relating to animal care under the direction and supervision of a licensed veterinarian who is responsible for the care of the animal.
