C.R.S. § 24-33.5-101

Legislative declaration

(1) The general assembly finds and declares that: (a) The various agencies of this state concerned with public safety have functioned independently and without central direction or focus; (b) Consolidation of these agencies under a single department would provide the state with greater responsibility for and direction of the several aspects of the public safety system without creating a new bureaucracy; and (c) The several state agencies thus brought together would benefit from such an association.
