(1) The school security disbursement program cash fund, referred to in this section as the “fund” is created in the state treasury. The fund consists of money that the general assembly may appropriate or transfer to the fund. The state treasurer shall credit all interest and income derived from the deposit and investment of money in the fund to the fund. Subject to annual appropriation by the general assembly, the department may expend money from the fund to implement the school security disbursement program created in section 24-33.5-1810 . The department may expend up to three percent of the amount appropriated to the fund in each fiscal year for the administrative expenses incurred in implementing the school security disbursement program. (2) This section is repealed, effective July 1, 2024. The state treasurer shall transfer all unexpended and unencumbered money in the fund on June 30, 2024, to the general fund.
