(1) The state department shall determine whether federal authority is necessary to provide benefit coverage under the medical assistance program to people who are on work release from jail, as described in section 18-1.3-207 . On or before October 1, 2023, the state department shall report the results of the assessment and analysis to the joint budget committee of the general assembly. (2) This section is repealed, effective June 30, 2024.
