(1) Except as otherwise specifically provided, all elections held pursuant to this part 2 shall be conducted as nearly as practicable in conformity with the provisions of the “Colorado Municipal Election Code of 1965”. (2) All necessary expenses for elections conducted pursuant to this part 2 for existing municipalities or for municipalities incorporated pursuant to part 1 of this article shall be paid out of the treasury of the municipality. (3) A special election shall be called for any election held pursuant to this part 2 when a regular election is not scheduled within the time period provided for such election.
