Each chronic and convalescent nursing home or rest home with nursing supervision shall complete a comprehensive medical history and medical examination for each patient upon the patient's admission and annually thereafter. The Commissioner of Public Health shall prescribe the medical examination requirements, including tests and procedures to be performed, in regulations adopted in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54. A urinalysis, including protein and glucose qualitative determination and microscopic examination, shall not be required as part of such facility's post-admission tests.
