Conn. Gen. Stat. § 38a-705

(Formerly Sec. 38-73). Exemption of fraternal benefit societies

The provisions of sections 38a-703 , 38a-704 and 38a-769 shall not apply to any otherwise lawful activities of fraternal benefit societies.
