Known as the Connecticut Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act

The act spans §§ 38–38 (28 sections).

(P.A. 81-368, S. 23, 25; P.A. 08-178, S. 49.) History: Sec. 38-522 transferred to Sec. 38a-997 in 1991; P.A. 08-178 increased maximum fine from $10,000 to $20,000.

Any person who knowingly and wilfully obtains information concerning an individual from an insurance institution, agent or insurance-support organization under false pretenses shall be fined not more than twenty thousand dollars.
