If any provision of this section or sections 45a-499a to 45a-500 , inclusive, or its application to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or applications of this section or sections 45a-499a to 45a-500 , inclusive, which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this section and sections 45a-499a to 45a-500 , inclusive, are severable.
