Disposition of body of executed person; payment of expenses of transporting body

The body of an executed person shall be delivered to the relatives of the person if they so desire; and, in case no claim is made by relatives for the body, it shall be disposed of in the same manner as bodies of inmates dying in a state correctional institution. If the nearest relatives of the person executed desire that the body be transported to the former home of the executed person, if in this state, the expenses of transportation shall be paid by the county governing authority of the county

where the person was convicted, from any funds on hand in the

treasury.
