The 2024 amendment, effective July 1, 2024, deleted “or registered” following “licensed” near the beginning of the first sentence in subsection (a).

Any person and the several members, officers, directors, agents, and

employees thereof who:

(1) Shall violate the provisions of subsection (a) or (a.1) of Code Section 7-1-1002, by the willful transaction of a mortgage business without a license or exemption, shall be guilty of a felony punishable as provided in Code Section 7-1-845; or

(2) Shall violate any of the other provisions of this article shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by imprisonment for

not more than one year or by a fine of not more than $1,000.00, or by both fine and imprisonment.
