Certification of safety and health professionals

Known as the Hawaii Occupational Safety and Health Law

The act spans §§ 396–396 (24 sections).

L 1995, c 234, §3

(a) Only individuals receiving certification from the department as safety and health professionals shall be qualified to certify that an employer:

(1) Has an effective safety and health program; and

(2) Qualifies for a reduction in workers' compensation insurance premiums under section 431:14-103(b).

(b) Certification as a safety and health professional shall be:

(1) Issued to an individual only; and

(2) Renewable.

(c) Certificates issued under this section may be revoked or suspended by the director on any grounds specified in rules adopted under this chapter.
